To gain feed back and a better insight into our target audience (16-24 year olds) we decided to conduct Audience Research using a range of different social media platforms such as Blackberry Messenger and Facebook. We also conducted video interviews to gain feedback on our products and concepts.
Audience Research - Facebook
We used Facebook as it enabled us to quickly reach a large amount of our friends and family with an easy means of recording our data. Also, our target audience are usually the ones to be using a social networking site like Facebook.
This was the first Facebook audience research interview. This particular person was 17 and enjoyed horror movies. His favourite horror movie was Paranormal Activity 3 due to the element of realism. Paranormal Activity was a recurring favourite movie when I asked around due to it's realism, which made us think about possibly adding an element like a video recording scene of some sort to the trailer as it would please our target audience more.
I also learned that a 'male lead character' would be preferred as he connotes dominance, which goes against the common convention of a female lead character in horror movies. I then explained the raw outline of our trailer, and my interviewee explained that it was a generic idea, however the school aspect made it original and interesting.
To ensure we have a range of information from different people, we asked a further two more people a few questions on Facebook to see what their opinions were

As mentioned before we also conducted a video interview for our audience research, where in which Nhien showed two people her personal story board and magazine drafts and asked for their feedback.
